Mike Brassfield is a financial writer based in St. Petersburg, Florida. He’s a senior writer for The Penny Hoarder, one of the nation’s largest personal finance websites. He previously worked as a reporter and editor for daily newspapers in Kansas, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida, but mostly at the Tampa Bay Times. He has also worked for a PR firm and a U.S. military magazine. He has a journalism degree from the University of Kansas. He’s married with twin teenage daughters.
