Domainify Group, which includes three website properties focused on business-name generation, was acquired by emerging tech company Game Lounge for 8 figures, according to a tweet from Thomas Smale, CEO of FE International, which brokered the deal.

Launched in 2012 by web tech entrepreneur Mark Cambridge and previously held under the umbrella of his e-commerce startup Amai Group, Domainify Group built its reputation with services like free consultations and access to its team of designers. The business includes three major assets: BusinessNameGenerator.com, Domainify.com, and BizNameWiz.com.

The 2021 acquisition enabled tech company Game Lounge to grow its footprint within the domain and webhosting space. The three sites were expected to make up a new company focused on B2B lead-generation sites and contribute approximately $5 million to Game Lounge’s EBITDA in 2021, according to a press release announcing the deal.

Founded in 2011, Game Lounge specializes in affiliate marketing for the igaming sector in Europe, with its key focus on the online casino space. Game Lounge leaders said they are excited to build on the success of the Domainify Group assets.

“We see the acquisition of Domainify as an exciting start of our newly established B2B-focused division within the Group,” said Game Lounge CSO Kristoffer Lindström in the same press release. “I am extra pleased that the operational team of Domainify will continue with us. Domanify has shown incredible growth during the past years and with the expertise and resources in our Group, we see the potential for even greater heights.”

The acquisition was managed by tech M&A brokers FE International, and Cambridge praised the ease of the process. “They worked tirelessly to get the best outcome for both the buyer and myself,” Cambridge said in a separate press release.

Domainify’s operational team continues to support the newly formed B2B division at Game Lounge. Cambridge declined to comment for this story.
